ROVworld Lda of Portugal are pleased to announce their appointment as a distributor for Iris Innovation's Scubar product line.  The Scubar is a highly portable Submersible video inspection system. The Fully waterproof colour camera unit has built in LED illumination. The system can be used as a hand held inspection camera or plugged into the 1.5 - 4.5 meter telescopic extension pole.

Developed originally for the marine industry as a close hull inspection tool, Scubar is now supplied globally to markets as diverse as the military, aircraft maintenance companies and sports coaches.

Scubar's primary purpose is to provide immediate search and inspection facility in situations where health and safety issues are apparent or where accessibility is an issue.

Scubar is fully portable (powered by a rechargeable battery pack), very easy to use, ruggedly constructed, cost effective and easily deployed in just a few minutes!

The systems utilise high resolution colour CCTV cameras with in-built LED illumination. The LEDs are automatically controlled by a photoelectric diode which operates below 0.4 lux.

Waterproof to 40 meters, the camera is fixed to a 12” manually flexible neck section that joined in turn to the wand handle. This allows the camera to be manipulated into the desired position.

The camera wand can be connected directly into the monitor/battery pack and used as a handscope, or plugged into a telescopic extension pole for extended searches of up to 10m above or below water.

The camera and connectors are all certified to IP68. The wand handle is constructed from rugged ABS plastics and marine grade stainless steel. A stainless steel keyway prevents damage caused by incorrect insertion into the telescopic pole.

Marine Engineers and Surveyors

Scubar is the ideal way of evaluating the condition of hull mounted fixtures such as anodes, skin fittings, bow thrusters props and tabs without having to send in a dive team or get the boat lifted.

The handscope can also be used when looking into bilges, around engine blocks or into bulkheads. Video footage and images can be recorded digitally to form part of a report or to show customers.

There are a range of optional accessories available to suit different project requirements.

Coast Guards / Customs & Excise

Scubar allows operators to check for contraband hidden below the waterline - whether it's taped to the hull or towed behind the boat. When used as a handscope it's also possible to quickly and safely look into tanks and containers. The long reach extension poles and portable monitor packs mean large goods vehicles can be searched and processed easily.
